UPDATE: King County, WA Clerk’s Office CLOSED

The King County, WA Superior Court Clerk’s Office has issued the following notice as of 03/19/2020:

“The Clerk’s Office closed their on-site services except for protection order filings, in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

For Public Viewer Access
For those customers that need to come in to our office to view records at our public viewer, please visit 6th floor room C-607 in Seattle or 2nd floor room 2231 in Kent.  Customers can use a public terminal to view and purchase court documents for up to 10 minutes.

If You Need To Make A Payment
Customers are encouraged to mail in Legal Financial Obligations (LFO) payments and requests for writs.  Customers can also visit the Clerk’s Office and ring the doorbell at the main doors, and a staff member will come to assist you.

If you are filing a domestic violence protection order and need assistance to fill out the documents, you can contact the Protection Order Advocacy Program at:  Seattle 206 477-1103 or Kent 206-477-3758.”

Previously we had reported that the Clerk’s Office was maintaining side rooms with the ability for the public to view documents in 10-minute increments but this option has also been closed, even though the Clerk’s website (as of this writing) says otherwise. We have contacted the court personnel directly and were informed that they are processing all copy and research requests via email or mail ONLY. Access to online electronic documents is still available through the court’s website and via CourtTrax.
